We are seeking talented Information Technology Professionals to join the Waste Management corporate IT team and participate in this ongoing effort.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, provides technical expertise in design, development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software.  Conducts a wide range of quality-control tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements.

Contributes expertise at top technical levels in particular business processes and is responsible for formulating systems scope and objectives relative to the organization's business plan and requirements.

• Develops cost-effective information technology solutions by analyzing, coding, testing, and implementing new and by modifying existing software applications that are relatively complex with full competency.
• Coordinates with users to determine requirements.
• Reviews systems under development and related documentation.
• Resolves customer complaints and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
• Participates in the development of software user manuals.
• May occasionally acts as team leader on less complex projects.
• May assist in training less-experienced software development staff.

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

Education and Experience

Required:  Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, MIS or similar area of study.  Five to eight years of previous experience required.

Preferred:  Master's Degree.

Required Skills

• 10+ years IT technical experience
• 5+ years developing and maintaining web services (java, .net, etc.)
• 2+ years experience creating and maintaining Siperian SIF services or we services for other MDM tools
• 5+ years of SQL experience
• 2+ years experience with MDM data models and technical processes such as Match Merge of customer data
• Experience using data quality tools such as Trillium
• Good communication skills
• Work in a team environment

Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

May require moderately advanced and in-depth skills in one or more of the following: system implementation, RPG, RPG IV, RPGLE, and/or RPG/AS400 Control Language/OS400, PeopleSoft technical applications, SQL databases, UNIX commands and systems, ASP, Oracle, web development tools and languages, HTML, CSS, Java, Visual Basic, and Web Sphere.  Additional skills in one or more of the following: Aldon LM(i) and other automated software change management tools, administration and development programming of AS/400 systems, SCM methodologies and procedures, QA process and procedures, and software development life cycle.  PeopleSoft HRMS systems development, implementation, upgrades and analyses, QA testing, catalyst or unified business modeling, system design and analysis, web application development, imaging technolog
